2020改版后KET的写作部分出现了较大变化,增加了一道从未有过的全新题目--看图写作,也是写作部分的第二道题母。它要求考生根据所提供的3幅图做故事的描述,比起老版的题目更多地考查了考生主动输出的能力,也要求考生具备一定的图片信息提取能力、看图发挥的想象能力和写作的逻辑能力。考前“背模板”这样的想法,既不能达到提高孩子写作能力的目标,也不太可能在考试中取得优异的成绩。
看到这里可能会有家长朋友问,那我们应该怎样在这部分提高呢?
通过标注的部分,可以看到写作评分的三个维度分别是:Content内容、Organisation结构组织和Language语言运用,每个维度对应0-5分,一篇文章的总分是15分。内容要求考生解读三幅图片所蕴含的信息,所写内容扣题,通过描述每一幅图来完成一个情节合理的故事;结构组织主要考查对于文章的句式结构和逻辑,需要考生将部分短句通过连词转换为复合句或并列句;语言应用则需要考生丰富词汇和语法结构的使用。
根据剑桥官方所给的评分维度,一些针对每个维度提高的tips:
1. 通过时间、天气、地点、人物、动作行为、原因等角度来提取图片信息。
① 时间: 在下午/在周六的下午,我们可以这样写in the afternoon / on Sunday afternoon。
②地点:在街上/在购物中心,我们可以这样写in the street / in the shopping centre。
③天气:热的/相当热/酷热的,我们可以这样写hot / pretty hot / boiling。
④人物:玛利亚和她的朋友谭雅,我们可以这样写Maria and her friend Tanya。
⑤动作行为:他们正走在街上,我们可以这样写they were walking along the street。
⑥原因:玛利亚想要给妹妹买一件礼物,所以邀请了她的朋友谭雅一起全逛街,我们可以这样写Maria wanted to buy a present for her sister, so she invited her friend Tanya to go shopping.
也可以说他们家附近新开了一家购物中心,所以决定走路去,我们可以这样写There was a new shopping centre near their house, so they decided to go there on foot.
通过不同的角度提取图片的信息,就可以描述每幅图片所包含的内容啦!
2. 一个好的记叙文结构相信孩子们都有学习过:开端-发展-高潮-结局,我们可以试着在第一段写地点、时间和主人公等信息,第二段写主要事件,第三段写故事的结局。(该条适合阅读量大、基础较好的孩子)
3. 写故事时使用正确且丰富的动词时态:一般过去时,过去进行时,一般过去时和过去进行时结合使用(适合基础较好的孩子),过去完成时(PET内容,如果有掌握可以使用)。

4. 使用合适的过去时间表达,描述事件发生的时间,或一系列事件的先后顺序。
① 含yesterday的表达,yesterday morning / afternoon / evening
② 含last的表达,last night / Saturday / week / weekend / month…
③ 含ago的表达,two hours / three days … + ago
④ 含later的表达,ten minutes / two days … later
5. 不要整篇文章都写简单句,可以使用连词将短句连接成并列句或复合句。
① 然后、接着:and
短句:He saw there was some money in the street. He picked up the money.
运用and:He saw there was some money and picked it up.
② 因此:so
短句:Tom was feeling hungry. He made himself a sandwich.
运用so:Tom was feeling hungry, so he made himself a sandwich.
② 因为:as, since, because
短句:Joel's alarm clock didn't ring. He was late for school.
运用as:Joel was late for school as his alarm clock didn't ring.
④ 当…的时候:when, while,
短句:Pete fell. He was playing basketball.
运用when:Pete was playing basketball when he fell.
运用while:Pete fell while he was playing basketball.
⑤ 但是:but
短句:It was an expensive book. The book was extremely useful.
运用but:It was an expensive but extremely useful book.
6. 添加更多的细节信息,用形容词修饰名词,副词修饰动词。
添加形容词前:We arrived at the stadium.
添加形容词后:We arrived at the huge, modern stadium.
添加副词前:A lot of people were dancing and singing.
添加副词后:A lot of people were dancing and singing excitedly.
7. 尽可能多使用extreme adjective,这类词的意思就是very+形容词,例如:
① very good: great, fantastic, wonderful, excellent, brilliant
② very bad: awful, terrible
③ very big: huge, giant, enormous
④ very small: tiny
⑤ very hot: boiling
⑥ very cold: freezing
⑦ very happy: pleased, cheerful
8. 避免重复使用一个词汇,可以选择合适的代词代替名词或者改写成关系从句。
用代词前:My favourite restaurant is an Italian restaurant. The restaurant is the best restaurant in our town.
用代词后:My favourite restaurant is Italian, it is the best one in our town.
关系从句:My favourite restaurant is Italian, which is the best one in our town.
相信小朋友们掌握了这些备考技巧后,KET写作部分的看图写作一定可以突飞猛进。同时在这也要提醒小朋友们和家长,剑桥通用五级考试是英语能力测试,能力的提升比应试技巧的学习更为关键,也更为重要。首先要做到的是输入的积累,平时增加课外阅读,保证每天都有一定时间的阅读量,一些好的课外读物(如牛津树、魔法树屋、疯狂学校等),阅读的过程不仅是思考的过程,也可以巩固词汇、认知词汇,跟着音频跟读还能兼顾听口,同时也能够积累写作的素材。写完一篇文章,自己先检查一遍,看看是否有一些常见的语法错误或词汇拼写错误,如漏掉不定冠词a和an、忽略了名词单复数的变化、动词时态结构不对等问题,再交给老师批改,老师可以根据考试评分每个维度分析这篇文章的完成度,做针对性的修改和练习,才能达到更有效率的提高。
文中所提到的这些备考技巧,如果是通过大量的刷题来学习掌握,不仅劳神费力,效果其实也是微乎其微。更建议小朋友们系统地去学习这一门语言,从根本上提高能力,事半功倍,通过学习路上的每一个考试也只是一个水到渠成的过程。
