　　Our client is a leading company in the design and manufacturing of medical devices. Institute for Advancing Science was designed by UNION, an international architectural and interior design studio specialized in office, retail and hospitality projects. Clestra is proud to deliver UNION’s design into reality.

　　The main purpose of Shanghai’s 35th floor project was to accommodate distinct office function of the Institute for Advancing Science (IAS). The facility is a combination of offices, classrooms, laboratories and creative areas, which serve as a main training area for physicians and technicians.

　　上海35层项目的主要目的是容纳先进科学研究所(IAS)独特的办公功能。培训设施包括办公室、教室、实验室和创新区，为医生和技术人员提供服务。

　　

　　The project was awarded the Bronze Medal at the REKA International Design Award 2019 ceremony during design week in Kuala Lumpur.

　　该项目在吉隆坡设计周期间的2019年REKA国际设计奖颁奖典礼上获得了铜奖。

　　The first step, when desiging a project like this, is to ask questions. UNION's design team asked client leaders how they see the future of their business. Their answer is what inspired the design for the project :“It is becoming the most enviable company with great experience in the medical field.” With this goal in mind, UNION's project team looked for futuristic design elements to let visitors experience the space in creative way and provide with an understanding of Client's principles.

　　设计这样的项目的第一步是提出问题。UNION设计部询问了客户的领导人，他们如何看待业务的未来。激发该项目设计灵感的原因是他们的回答 :“它已成为在医疗领域拥有丰富经验的最令人羡慕的公司。” 考虑到这一目标，UNION项目部寻找具有未来主义方法的设计元素，以使访客以创新方式体验空间，并了解客户的理念。

　　Moving from the big picture to details, UNION's design team asked Client's employees about futuristic projects they were working on and what technologies they were currently implementing. It was surprising to find out that one of the most impressive tech solutions being implemented was not directly related to medical science. Client's employees were using the IoT and big data in collaborative works to bring scientists and inventors from across the globe together to push ahead medical science.

　　从全局到细节，UNION设计部向客户员工询问了他们正在从事的未来项目以及当前正在实施的技术。UNION惊讶地发现，正在实施的最令人印象深刻的技术解决方案之一与医学无关。员工们在协同工作中使用了物联网和大数据，将全球各地的科学家和发明家聚集在一起，以推动医学科学的发展。

　　In order to utilize the space in a variety of ways, an entire floor has been designed with minimal visible borders between particular functions. Visitors are able to see laboratory work and the showroom area without interfering with office workers, and trainees can move flawlessly between laboratories, meeting and training rooms. Furthermore, UNION's design team wanted the showroom area to be interconnected by reflecting lights and metallic wires on the ceiling, which represent the IoT and big data flow.

　　为达到以多种方式利用空间，整个楼层的设计风格为，在特定功能区域之间设置最小的可见边界。参观者可以在不干扰办公室工作人员的情况下看到实验室工作和展示区域，培训人员可以在实验室、会议室和培训室之间完美地移动。此外，UNION设计团队希望展厅区域能够在视觉上显示出相互的联系，所以在天花板上安装了反射光和金属线，这代表了物联网和大数据流。

　　Finally, client’s products are designed for humans, so it was important to relate to nature and elements of the body. As the company is becoming a core for the medical science field, UNION's design team decided to use the human core -  skeletal structure - as inspiration for the showroom, wrapping it around special areas to underline their importance.

　　最后，客户的产品是为人类设计的，所以与自然和身体的元素相关是很重要的。随着公司逐渐成为医学领域的核心，UNION的设计团队使用了人类的核心作为灵感，并将一个骨架结构整合到展厅中，包裹了特殊的区域，强调了它们的重要性。
