Abstract: This study aims to investigate the application of the Internet and multi-media in classroom English teaching in the Middle School. To find the proper way of applying the Internet and multi-media technology, the author analyses the situation of the use of the Internet and multi-media in middle school English teaching. Then this study lists out the forms of the application of the Internet and multi-media in classroom English teaching. Both the positive and negative effects of the application on teachers, the teaching content and students are evaluated. Lastly, the constructivist theory as the main theoretical support for the proper application of the Internet and multi-media in classroom English teaching in the middle school is given together with the illustration by means of teaching examples. It is concluded that the Internet and multi-media is only a teaching aid that may help teachers teach effectively if properly used in the process of teaching and learning and that the excessive use or unsuitable use of this modern teaching aid will bring negative effects on teaching and learning.  论文出自三亿论文网 http://www.eeelw.com
